The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sofia

One of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world is located in the city centre of  Sofia, very close to the Bulgarian house of Parliament. It is considered as one of symbols and primary tourist attractions of the city. The cathedral was built in honour to the Russian soldiers who died during the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Named of Saint Alexander Nevsky (1220-1263), who was a Russian prince.
