Pamporovo

Pamporovo

Pamporovo Mountain Resort is located in the Rhodope Mountains, about 85 km south of Plovdiv, about 15 km north of Smolyan and 10 km south of Chepelare. In 2016 Pamporovo merges with Mechi Chal, located about 9km away. The two complexes are connected by a regular bus connection, but there is still no direct connection between the slopes.

The highest peak in the region of Pamporovo resort rises to an altitude of 1926m. The peak can be reached by lift, on foot or on an asphalt road, which is closed during the winter season. The peak is among the hundred national tourist sites of Bulgaria.

In 1978, a television tower was put into operation on Snezhanka peak. The tower is 156m high and has two rings. The lower ring houses television transmission equipment and the upper has a restaurant with a panoramic terrace. The restaurant is accessible by an elevator and offers a 360 degree view of the Rhodope Mountains and the neighboring mountains.

Ski center Studenets
Studenets Ski Center is one of the busiest places in the Pamporovo area. Numerous bars, restourants and hotels are located at the starting station of the lift N2, which connects Studenets with Snezhanka Peak.

Stoykite - Ski track and lift
The Stoykite track is about 3600m long and is considered as relatively easy for riding (blue), but there are some steeper sections. It starts at Snezhanka Peak and is divided into two arms. Six chair lifts with a capacity of about 2400 people an hour connect the Stoykite to Snezhanka Peak.
