The Bolata area

The Bolata area

Bolata area is located in the Northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, near village of Bulgarevo and about 13km from the town of Kavarna. It is part of the Kaliakra Nature reserve. The area represents a small cove with a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by high cliffs, where a very small river flowing into the sea. During the summer weekend days the beach could be quite crowded.

Bolata Beach is one of the most beautiful Bulgarian beaches. In recent years the area has become increasingly popular and in the summer the beach can be quite crowded.

The Bolata area
In the area around Bolata can be seen many fishing boats. In good weather and calm sea, the water has an incredible blue-green color.

The Bolata area
Remains of an ancient settlement have been found in the caves around the bay, as well as evidence of life dating back to around 400 BC. The area is known for good diving and fishing opportunities.

The water in the bay is calm and shallow. Two stone water barriers have been built to protect the beach from the waves. The sand strip is relatively small and the sand is dark and hard.

A steep path ascends to the top of the steep rocky shores, offering incredible views over the Bolata area.
