Stob's pyramids

Stob's pyramids

The natural rock phenomenon is situated near the village of Stob, Kyustendil district, in the western part of Rila Mountain. The Pyramids are a variety of shapes and sizes, where some of them are conical and others looking like rocky mushrooms. Under the influence of wind, rain and snow, the form of the pyramids changes, some of them vanish, the stone hats fall and new pyramids are born. In 1964 the Stob pyramids have been declared a natural landmark.
