Temple St. Petka Bulgarska, Rupite

The temple St. Petka of Bulgaria is situated close to the village of Rupite, around 10 km norhteast of the city of Petrich. The church was built close to the house, where the ptophet Vanga (1911-1996) was lived. Her request was the temple to be a home of all believers, regardless of their nationality and religion.

The temple was established on 14 October 1994.

The sculpture was made on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prophetess. The monument weighs about 400 kg and is located to the left of the bridge leading to the temple.

The temple has a limited number of icons and is not painted everywhere. The murals are not according to the Orthodox canon and the images are of ordinary people.

A large stone cross was built in 2009.The cross is dug into the rock and can be climbed by people.
